The National Honor Society is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1921.

Membership in NHS at the Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy is by invitation only based on a student’s unweighted GPA (3.00 minimum) and successful completion of the first semester of their sophomore year.  Students that receive an invitation must then complete an application for membership.  The application is then reviewed by a five-member faculty council who evaluate the applicant on community service, leadership and character.  Applicants that meet the criteria in these areas can then become NHS members.  Additional information can be found in the document Selection, Discipline and Dismissal Procedures.
